This morning, Saturday, August 2, 2025, a master's thesis was discussed by student Hussam Milad Muhammad Al-Duwaibi, from the Department of Criminal Law, Faculty of Law, University of Tripoli. The thesis was titled "Implications of the Procedural Balance of Oversight Bodies' Legislation on Combating Corruption."
The thesis examined and analyzed the legal and procedural framework regulating the work of oversight bodies in Libya, focusing on the effectiveness of current legislation in achieving a balance between legal process guarantees and the protection of rights, on the one hand, and the requirements for combating corruption and achieving legal deterrence, on the other. The thesis also sought to highlight shortcomings and gaps that could affect the efficiency of these bodies' performance, and proposed a number of legislative and procedural recommendations to enhance their role in combating corruption.
The academic discussion committee consisted of the following professors:

Dr. Abdul Hafeez Abdul Jalil Dikna - External Member
After a thorough academic discussion that addressed the thesis's themes, problems, and recommendations, the committee commended the scholarly effort and unanimously decided to approve the thesis without any comments, recommending its publication, and award the student a Master's degree in Criminal Law.
